Can I import data from Excel or another CRM?
Yes. With the Clean-up & Migration service, we can import your data from Excel, or another CRM, or any previous Act! version. Or you can use the built-in tools to do your own importing.
Will I lose the desktop version if I upgrade?
No. Act! Advantage provides an updated desktop version option, synchronised to the cloud, to use alongside the new cloud features.
Can I use both desktop and cloud versions?
Yes. That’s actually how many clients choose to transition. Retain access to the updated desktop version while you start using the cloud—and decide what works best for each member of your team.
Can I upgrade one team member and have others use my old version?
No. To share the same database, all team members require a licence and must use either the new desktop version, or the online experience, or both.
Is my data safe in the cloud?
Yes, 100%. It’s hosted in an Amazon data-centre in Australia, backed up every 6 hours, with multi-factor authentication, encryption and independent (SOC2) certification. You don’t have to worry about hardware crashes or lost files—we’ve built in peace of mind.
What integrations are available with Act! Advantage?
Act! Advantage integrates with your web site, and popular tools such as Outlook, Gmail, Xero and MYOB, enhancing your business operations.
What’s different about the cloud version?
It’s the Act! you know, but built for today. You’ll recognise the structure, and while some actions are performed a bit differently, everything runs smoother, loads faster, connects better—and it works from anywhere without syncing headaches.
Is this still “Act!”? Will I recognise it?
Yes. You can keep your screen design. Your data will feel familiar, and the logic is still Act!. What’s changed is the experience—it’s cleaner, quicker, and doesn’t rely on your own server or maintenance to run properly.
Can someone help me get set up?
Yes—and that’s what the Clean-Up and Migration service is for. We’ll clean your data, migrate what you want, and guide you through the new system so you feel confident using it from day one.
How long does it take to get running?
Most clients are up and running in a day. With our help, even faster. You don’t need to install or configure anything—just log in and go.
Will the add-ons in my old version work with Act! Advantage?
No. These will need to be updated or replaced. Contact us for details.
Can I download a copy of my data?
Yes. A full backup of your data can be provided free of charge at any time.
